The short version
We want every family and church to be able to use this site, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard, or magnification. If anything gets in your way, email thevinekidsbook@gmail.com and we’ll help.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the most widely used standard for website accessibility.
What we’ve done
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a clear focus outline that never hides under the menu bar.
- Text and buttons meet WCAG color contrast levels.
- Images have text descriptions, and the Chapter One reader has a Text view with the full words of every page.
- Forms have visible labels, clear error messages, and support for autofill.
- Pages reflow to fit small screens and enlarged text without sideways scrolling.
- Animation is reduced when your device asks for less motion.
- The video from Abenezer has captions on screen.
How we check
We test with automated accessibility checks and by hand, using only a keyboard, at desktop and phone sizes.
Known limits
- The Chapter One PDF is a print layout and isn’t fully tagged for screen readers. The whole chapter is also on our Free Resources page, in the reader’s Text view, once you enter your email.
- The video plays in YouTube’s player, which we don’t control.
- Card payment happens on SumUp’s checkout page, which SumUp runs. If it gives you trouble, choose “Send me an invoice” when you order, or email us.
If you need the chapter or the handbook in another format, such as large print or plain text, email us and we’ll work with you to provide it.
Tell us what isn’t working
Email thevinekidsbook@gmail.com with the page you were on and what happened. We’ll work with you to fix it or get you the information another way.
