Make Sunday stick on Monday.

Use The Vine Kids alongside the curriculum your church already teaches. Kids hear the story together at church, and families pick up the same conversation at home.

How one session carries through the week

  1. Sunday at church

A group session of about 30 to 45 minutes, led from the free handbook. In Session 1, a child fans a small potted plant and a crumpled paper ball with a piece of cardboard. The paper rolls right off. The plant stays put. Then everyone says together:

“I am rooted in God’s Word, so I can stand strong and stay kind.”

  2. Monday to Saturday at home

Kids go home with a slip for their parents. The one for Session 1 gives them a question to ask:

    “What helped Reuben stand tall?”

And one thing to try: catch them being kind when it was easier not to be, and say so.

The Leader & Parent Handbook

Plans for all 14 chapters, ready to lead and written for volunteers, Sunday school teachers, parents, and homeschool families. Every session has a group version and a home version. Plan on about ten minutes to prepare, and most object lessons use things you already own.

In a group
30 to 45 minutes. Gather, read, talk, make it stick, close, and send a slip home.
At home
15 to 20 minutes. Ask, read, pick two questions, try the home version of the object lesson, and pray.

Every session plan includes

  • A supply list and prep time
  • Opening questions for group and home
  • A story recap
  • Questions that start simple and go deeper
  • An object lesson with a home version
  • A declaration and a prayer prompt

Also inside

  • Care notes for tender topics
  • A 14 day reading chart
  • A slip to send home after every session
  • Seven memory verse games
  • A glossary of faith terms
  • A certificate of completion

Where it fits

Sunday school
One chapter a week for a full quarter.
Small groups
The same plan works with a smaller circle of kids.
Homeschool groups
Read together, then let kids draw and share.
Family conversations
A slip sent home gives parents a question to ask that week.

How many books?

The handbook recommends a copy in every child’s hands if you can manage it, since following along and doing the Draw This prompt is where a lot of the work happens. A leader can also read aloud from a single copy.
